5 de Mayo is tomorrow and I am 9 months pregnant, but that won't stop me from enjoying a margarita with my homemade enchiladas. Michael and I created this delicious "mamarita" for all the mamas out there who are expecting or nursing and needed a recipe for a drink that packs on the flavor but lacks all the alcohol.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 0 minutes
Total duration: 10 minutes
Yields: 4 servings
Serving size: A 12 oz glass
Ingredients:
3 cups frozen strawberries
3 cups frozen mango chunks
3 cups of ice
1 cup water
2/3 cup of lemon juice (save the lemon)
1/2 cup of pineapple juice
4 tablespoons of simple syrup
Dish with white granulated sugar in it for trimming the rim of the glass
Steps:
1. Add mangos, 1 1/2 cups of ice, 1/2 cup of water, 1/3 cup of lemon juice, 1/4 cup of pineapple juice, and 2 tablespoons of simple syrup to a blender. Select the "crush" setting and let it blend till smooth.
2. Transfer the mango mixture to a pitcher and wash out the remainder from the blender with water. We will now work on the Strawberry mix.
3. Add strawberries, 1 1/2 cups of ice, 1/2 cup of water, 1/3 cup of lemon juice, 1/4 cup of pineapple juice, and 2 tablespoons of simple syrup to a blender. Select the "crush" setting and let it blend till smooth.
4. Line the rim of your serving glasses with lemon juice using the left over lemon you squeezed for the mixtures. Then, holding the glass upside down, press the rim of the glass into the dish filled with sugar. If you lined the rim with enough lemon juice, the sugar should stick fairly easily.
5. To create the layered look pictured above, carefully pour your strawberry mix 1/3 of the way into your glass. Then repeat with the mango mixture, and again with the strawberry mixture. You can also elect to do the opposite, following the mango/strawberry/mango pattern instead. After all, you'll be the one sipping on it :)
6. Enjoy!
If you liked this recipe, let me know below. If you try it, share it with me! Not that it's necessary, but it always feels good to know someone out there is enjoying my recipes!
