It's here! It's here! The best time of the year is finally here! Now that Starbucks and Disney have both declared it is socially acceptable to celebrate the coming of Fall - we mustn't delay the magic for one more second. It's time to decorate and bake all things pumpkin :)
I was sorting through my fall decorations trying to figure out which ones to put out and I noticed I didn't own a Fall wreath. So, naturally, I started shopping for one. The thing isssss, all the really cute ones were upwards $40 dollars. womp, womp, womp.
After careful consideration (a whole 2 minutes of deliberation with myself), I decided to make one instead and let me just say -- there was no better way to get in the spirit of Fall like having done this. It was so fun to pick out all the pieces I wanted on my wreath and then putting it all together. Anddddd it actually turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. Best of all, it cost me less than $20 to make! CAN I GET AN "OH YEAAA"?! Here are some pics:
So if this blog post has got you feeling all the fall feels and you're feeling inspired to diy a fall wreath too, here is what you'll need:
Tools:
A pair of scissors
Hot glue gun
A pair of pliers
A basic wreath -- I recommend this one
Your choice of trimmings: Flowers, leaves, pumpkins, scarecrows, etc. purchased at https://www.dollartree.com/
And here are some tips on how to put it all together:
First, plan out where you want to put what. Layout all the trimmings atop your wreath and move them around until its perfect for your liking.
Once you've set your mind on the design, its time to do some pasting. Plug in your glue gun and get your pliers and scissors ready to do some magic.
Hocus Pocus, it's time to focus! If your using faux flowers and leaves from the dollar tree, you'll want to use the pliers to cut off the stems (which, really is wire) before sticking them onto your wreath. Once you've handled that part, carefully glue your trimmings onto the wreath. Make sure they are secure and not the slightest bit loose. Remember, these will be hanging on your doors for a couple of months so you'll want to make sure the wind won't blow away some of your statement pieces. That would be tragic.
Please be careful when handling the pliers, scissors, and (most of all) the hot glue gun. Its never fun to slightly burn your finger --- trussssst me.
Here's a little clip of me putting mine together:
